Emotional and social regulation
Neuropsychological vs. Academic Achievement Testing
While neuropsychological evaluations examine the broader landscape of brain-behavior relationships, academic achievement testing zeroes in on a person’s mastery of core academic skills—such as reading, math, and written expression—compared to age or grade-level expectations.
These tests are often used in tandem:
- To detect or rule out learning disabilities (dyslexia, dyscalculia, etc.)
- To inform IEPs or 504 Plans in school settings
- To evaluate giftedness or identify support needs
At Compass of Hope, we integrate both approaches when appropriate to deliver a full picture of a person’s learning and cognitive profile.
