Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

PMHNP-BC

I am a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC), and I am proud to be part of the Compass of Hope team. It is a privilege to serve our community and support individuals as they navigate their mental health journey.

I have been a nurse for more than a decade, and my nursing career began in medical surgical care and geriatric psychiatry. Throughout those years, I had the opportunity to care for people from many different backgrounds and with a variety of complex health needs. Many of the patients I cared for also experienced substance use disorders and mental health disorsders, which helped me develop a deeper understanding of how closely mental health, physical health, and substance use can be connected.

During my graduate training as a psychiatric nurse practitioner, I had the opportunity to work in acute inpatient psychiatry and with geriatric populations. These experiences allowed me to care for individuals during some of the most challenging moments of their lives and strengthened my passion for providing thoughtful, compassionate mental health care.

I believe that you are more than a diagnosis. Everyone has a unique story, and I believe understanding that story is an important part of providing meaningful care.

My approach is grounded in compassion, respect, collaboration, and evidence-based care. I encourage clients to ask questions, share concerns, and speak openly about their experiences. Together, we will review your symptoms, history, strengths, goals, and treatment options to develop a plan tailored to your needs.

Depending on your needs, treatment may include medication management, supportive therapy, psychiatric education, lifestyle strategies, substance use counseling, and coordination with other members of your healthcare team. I believe medication can be an important part of treatment, but it is only one piece of the larger picture. I take the time to explain treatment options and help you make informed decisions about your care.

Most importantly, I strive to meet each person where they are with empathy, patience, and without judgment. My hope is that you leave each visit feeling heard, understood, and supported.

I am grateful for the opportunity to walk alongside my patients and to be part of their journey toward greater stability, wellness, and a better quality of life. I look forward to getting to know you and working together toward your goals.
