I view the mental health recovery process as similar to climbing a mountain. Initially it can feel overwhelming and daunting but in time as we look back on your progress, the journey will feel worth it. In the therapeutic process, my goal is to create a welcoming space where we can make the experience feel less overwhelming. My work is collaborative and I encourage open communication around your goals. I primarily incorporate skills and techniques from a type of therapy called Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). The skills from DBT are incredibly effective and helpful at increasing emotional resilience, building assertive communication skills and redirecting maladaptive patterns of behavior rooted in trauma. In addition to utilizing DBT skills, I enjoy creating a safe environment for processing your experiences in the past and how they may be influencing your current worldview.
